CRICKET legend Shane Warne told of his shock at being accused of beating up a porn star as he was released last night without charge.
The 48-year-old Aussie, who was quizzed yesterday under caution at a police station in central London, will face no further action.
He had been due to give expert analysis on Sky Sports’ coverage of England’s 50-over match against the West Indies.
In a statement, the former spin bowler said: “I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault.
“I have fully co-operated with the police and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses.
“The police have confirmed to me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken.”
Warne put on a dark suit and pink tie to face questions from police with his lawyer.
He had been accused of throttling Valerie Fox, 30, and hitting her to the floor during a fracas at a nightclub in West London.
He is understood to have contacted police after The Sun on Sunday revealed Ms Fox had made a complaint to cops. He was not arrested.
Ms Fox told officers Warne struck her during a row at Loulou’s in Mayfair in the early hours of Saturday.
She posted photos of her bruised face online and tweeted: “Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can hit women and get away with it.”
Scotland Yard said a 48-year-old man was interviewed under caution in connection with an assault.
A spokesman added last night: “He has since been released with no further action to be taken.”
Ms Fox, who has appeared in dozens of adult films, claimed in April that she snogged and groped Nigel Farage on a transatlantic flight.
The former Ukip chief denies anything happened between them.
