THE daughter of a prominent world leader was caught pulling funny faces as she took SELFIES while her dad gave a speech about a horrific massacre.
Leyla Aliyeva, 33, whipped out her phone and posed with a mock shock expression on her face whilst in the audience at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
President Ilham Aliyev was talking to the United Nations on Wednesday about the alleged massacre of 613 Azerbaijani citizens in 1992.
Although her 53 year old mother Mehriban listened attentively to her husband's emotional address, daughter Leyla barely lasted two minutes into the speech before losing interest.
In the video, Mehriban is seen glancing at her selfie taking daughter but fails to reprimand her.
To make his daughter's behaviour all the more humiliating, President Aliyev's speech was streamed live across the globe and Leyla's actions sparked outrage on social media.
One shocked user tweeted: "This is simply lack of culture and stupidity of rich kids," whilst another commented "that's so shameful for the family."
The selfie loving Leyla regularly posts snaps of herself to her 607 thousand Instagram followers, showing everything from what her outfit is to poses of her on the red carpet.
