Prince Harry forces smile as he meets Melania Trump at the Invictus Games in Toronto before joking around with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau
PRINCE Harry appeared to force a smile as he met Melania Trump in Toronto today.
Melania, wearing a black and white dog tooth Dior suit, smiled warmly as the pair shook hands for photographers - but the Prince's smile dropped as he turned away from the cameras.
Meeting Harry, Melania said: "Thank you. Thank you so much for coming."
Harry then asked the First Lady if she had been in the country long before they discussed the success of the Invictus Games, which was founded by the Prince.
The meeting took place in the Yorkville East conference room on the fourth floor of the Sheraton in central Toronto at 1.30pm before the official planned opening of the Invictus Games tonight.
The former model, who became a US citizen in 2006, Harry sat on cream leather seats with the respective flags for each country behind them.
A white orchid sat on a table between the pair.
Strict White House security flanked the event, anyone with authority to go in the room had all belongings search in a closed room before before being allowed to enter.
President Trump's wife is leading a U.S. delegation to the Paralympic-style games founded by the Prince 2014.
The event marks Melania's first solo trip out of the country since her husband assumed the presidency.
Later in the dace the prince looked happy to be reunited with Prime Minister Trudeau - who is also a friend of Meghan Markle.
After the pair warmly shook hands, Harry thanked him and said the reaction to Invictus in Canada was "absolutely amazing."
He said: "There's a real buzz across Toronto - everyone's getting into it."
And as the press were summoned out, Harry put aside his airs and graces and leant in to whisper Trudeau a joke - which made him laugh out loud.
Justin Trudeau - who has a famously flamboyant taste in socks - had donned a bright scarlet pair - matching the Prince's red head.
The powerful duo had a clear rapport when Harry flew out to promote Invictus in Toronto last year.
They were seen laughing and smiling as they watched a demo ice hockey game together.
Meghan Markle is also a friend of the 45-year-old Prime Minister.
The Suits actress shared a candid black and white photograph of them together on Instagram last year.
The pair had been chatting together on a sofa at the One Young World summit in Ottawa.
Meghan is also friends with his wife, Lady Sophie Gregoire Trudeau - and has reportedly taken her advice on how to deal with fame. The pair attended a party together at the Toronto Soho House last year.
The Price jumped in a car with five-year-old Daimy Gommers who took him for a spin in a miniature Land Rover.
Daimy is at this year's Invictus Games with her dad Paul who is representing Holland in the archery event.
She also met the Prince at the last Invictus Games.
Her mum Danielle said: "Every time she sees Prince Harry on the TV she says 'oh it's my friend Prince Harry!".
Excited Daimy said of her drive around the track: "It was nice."
Harry had earlier been driven around at high speed in a Jaguar.
