NHS FAIL CHANT

NHS bosses were made to chant ‘we can do this’ at a urgent national meeting on how to improve Britain’s hospitals

The bosses of the 59 worst-performing NHS hospitals were ordered to London by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt

NHS bosses ordered to a meeting on the urgent need to improve hospital performance were led in a chant of “We can do this”, it is claimed.

The bizarre motivation stunt came after heads of the 59 worst trusts were summoned to London to be read the riot act by the Health Secretary.

Jeremy Hunt wanted to send a message that those who failed to hit A&E targets must do more or risk losing their jobs.

But an insider revealed some were encouraged to “take the roof off” with the chant, led by an NHS England regional director.

It allegedly took place during a session for bosses from the Midlands and East Region, the Health Service Journal reports.

One source said the event offered them “nothing new” to learn.

Another figure said trust leaders were told to “own their problems, not externalise them”.
