Liverpool FC physio’s Portakabin romp lover screamed abuse about his wife when he ended affair
Married Liam Kershaw faced months of bile after ending affair with 29-year-old colleague who he whisked away for steamy Portakabin romps during work hours
SHAMED former Liverpool FC physio Liam Kershaw was subjected to months of vile abuse by his Portakabin lover after he called time on their sordid affair.
An employment tribunal heard how the unnamed admin clerk waged an six-month campaign of yelled threats and abusive emails until Kershaw, 42, cracked and reported her to Kop bosses.
"I had to put an end to it" he said as he battled to save his career at the London hearing.
"After nearly six months of unwanted contact from her I couldn't find another way to stop it other than to contact the club.
"I clearly made a big mistake, it is something I will regret for the rest of my life"
The panel heard how an Academy staff member forced open a Portakabin door to to find Kershaw and his 29-year-old colleague inside.
But today the tribunal ruled that Kershaw, now working at Huddersfield Town FC, is fit to continue work as a licensed physio as the affair did not affect his ability to practice.
Emails between the pair suggest they secretly engaged in oral sex and groping while up to 100 schoolboy players used the facilities in 2015.
But the fling turned "sour" and the admin worker threatened to tell Kershaw’s wife.
On Monday he claimed the "deeply regrettable” romps lasted just “minutes”.
Kershaw, of Liverpool, said: "All along I knew it was wrong but I was drawn into it. I clearly made a big mistake, it is something I will regret for the rest of my life."
Panel chair Penny Griffith said: "In terms of the personal component the panel is of the view that the registrant has shown considerable remorse in relation to his failings.
"He has explained how he would respond differently if he found himself in a similar situation in the future.
"These issues did not affect his personal practice during the allegations or since.
"The registrant has advised that this was a huge lapse in judgement and was completely out of character."
