‘Killer clown’ gang leap out of a bush and SCRATCH girl, 16, as she waited at a bus stop, sparking cop warning
A TEENAGER has told how three men dressed as Killer Clowns leapt out of bushes and scratched her neck as she walked from a bus stop.
Rastana Baker, 16, said she “didn’t think I was going to live to see today” during the terrifying prank - thought to be inspired by the Stephen King movie It.
Rastana, of Perth, Australia, said she was walking to a friend’s house on Saturday evening when a car stopped and three men got out wearing clown masks and dark clothing.
She : “I didn’t want to look back a second time, but I could tell they were behind me when I heard them laughing.
“When I did turn around, I saw the wigs and clown faces. They were running in and out of the bushes, running up to me.”
Rastana claims that when she tried to run away, one clown grabbed her by the shoulder.
She broke free and ran to her friend’s house and called police.
Rastana said it left her scared to go outside at night and added: “For people that are out there just doing this for fun, it is not for fun and it can actually traumatise somebody.”
Police have stepped up patrols in the wake of the Perth attack, concerned it could lead to a more serious incident.
It is the latest frightening episode in the Killer Clown craze that has resurfaced after the release of the big-screen adaptation of King’s bestselling novel.
The film — about a clown named Pennywise who kidnaps children in a campaign of terror — has smashed box office records.
It has sparked a fresh wave of creepy attacks, a repeat of last year’s "clown purge" in which pranksters dressed as clowns to scare victims in Britain, the US and Australia.
Earlier this month a scary clown was spotted leaping out at people in a park and marauding in the city centre in Chelmsford, Essex.
And terrifying footage shows a creepy clown peering into a family home in Wisconsin, US.
Last year in one weekend Thames Valley Police were called to 14 reports of people being intimidated or frightened by others dressed as clowns and Gloucestershire Police had six reports.
South Wales Police also attended numerous reports and in Leicestershire, one woman was scared so badly she went into early labour as the craze baffled much of the UK.
