PM must listen to the wisdom of Boris
WITHOUT Boris Johnson’s oratory and charm, Brexit wouldn’t have happened.
So it’s unfair that PM Theresa May has sidelined him.
He’s also copped it from Remoaner civil servants — who brief against him — and from ministers who want to soften Brexit such as Home Secretary Amber Rudd and Chancellor Phillip Hammond.
So we welcome Boris finally outlining his bold vision for Brexit.
With a pro-Leave vacuum in Government, his intervention is bang on.
The Sun on Sunday has long argued that leaving the Customs Union and Single Market is crucial for our future prosperity.
And that escaping the clutches of the European Court of Justice is vital to our sovereignty.
If we don’t, it means no control over our borders, no independent trade deals and EU judges lording it over us.
Boris is right to say that to stay in these institutions would make a “complete mockery” of our referendum and that forging new trade deals will bring a “glorious” future.
If we’d been asked to design the EU ourselves, he points out, “we would have nothing like the body that exists today”.
Right again — especially in the week that Jean-Claude Juncker revealed his plans for an EU super-state.
Our Foreign Secretary is sick of being ignored and has spoken out.
His party — and Mrs May — MUST listen.
Red letter days
IT’S disgraceful that trade unionists could ruin Christmas for millions who send gifts to loved ones.
Thanks to the CWU — who want to “smash up the Royal Mail” — this could actually happen.
Unsurprisingly, they have pumped £2.79million into Labour’s coffers since Jeremy Corbyn, who would re-nationalise the mail, became leader in 2015.
If he ever becomes PM, union chiefs will be further spurred on . . .
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Train up more doctors
JEREMY Hunt reading the riot act to failing hospital chiefs of course makes sense.
The Health Secretary’s warning to 60 NHS Trusts comes as we reveal more than a third of England’s doctors are migrants.
They’re vital to our health service.
But the Government should be training more home-grown doctors.
It is shocking that 700 would-be medics with the right grades did not get into medical school.
We need many more doctors . . . or Mr Hunt will be reading many more riot acts.
