AMERICA will stand by Britain after Brexit, Rex Tillerson has promised Boris Johnson as he hailed our continuing special relationship.
The US Secretary of State said that while our EU exit could throw up some "unique challenges", he promised to stand by Britain's side.
And he took the opportunity to thank us for standing by America after the hurricane battered the Carribean and the East Coast earlier this week.
Secretary Tillerson said: "While Brexit does present unique challenges to the British people, you have a steadfast ally in the US.
"And we will stand by our ally as Brexit continues to take shape."
He said talks in London with Theresa May had been "very productive" today.
Iran, North Korea and the aftermath of Hurricane Irma were all on the agenda today.
The pair took the chance again to condemn North Korea's recent nuclear tests, and said the US Secretary of State said the country's actions were "not acceptable to any member of the international community".
Foreign Secretary Mr Johnson also said British officials were "looking into" how we can use our overseas aid budget to get more money to the hurricane-struck Brits in overseas territories.
