Jean-Claude Juncker’s jaw-dropping expansion plans PROVE Britain has made the right choice to quit the EU

Juncker's speeches are a clear confirmation that we made the right decision and got out before the swarm of new countries join the EU

FORGET Farage or Boris. There is no more powerful Brexit recruiting sergeant than Jean-Claude Juncker.

His commendably frank speech on the EU’s jaw-dropping expansion plans proves beyond doubt that Britain has made the right choice.

It will have shattered Remainer delusions too: it confirms we are, thankfully, way past the point of no return.

With us out, the EU feels free to engulf more countries in one gigantic borderless superstate with a single President, army and currency for ALL members.

It is exactly the vision The Sun warned of, only to be accused of scare stories.

When Remainers said we could stick with the status quo or gamble on Brexit, we said there was no status quo. Juncker has emphatically proved us right.

But good luck to the EU. Good luck tackling the soaring unpopularity as it tramples further on voters’ rights. Good luck preventing the Euro straitjacket inflicting stagnant growth and mass unemployment on more nations.

Good luck negotiating with all those countries Juncker claims are suddenly queuing up for EU trade agreements. They’re in for a very long haul. Britain will sign them in a fraction of the time — though possibly not with the EU.

But we hope it all works, because we need our neighbours to flourish.

As for “regrets”, we reckon they’ll be felt sooner across the Channel than here

Job beats dole

JEREMY Corbyn is fixated on painting the most depressing picture of Britain at all times. Which is why he cannot hail the best unemployment and jobs figures in 42 years.

Labour’s leader caricatures this country as a Dickensian nightmare of grotesque poverty and inequality where cackling, top-hatted Tory toffs dodge taxes as noble workers queue up at food banks.

The sole nugget of truth in it being that too many jobs are still low-paid and insecure. But there ARE jobs galore — and they are better than the dole.

Corbyn disagreees. He likes to think of benefit claimants as being kept safe in the welfare state’s warm embrace from “exploitation” by heartless capitalists.

He should ask those whose jobs he denigrates if they were happier sitting idle at others’ expense under Labour — or standing on their own two feet now.

The Tory job miracle of the last seven years should be celebrated by all.

It has transformed lives.

Cleggs' trauma

THE Sun has had many political disagreements with Nick Clegg.

But our hearts go out to the ex-Lib Dem leader and his wife Miriam over their teenage son’s blood cancer.

After a hellish year Antonio seems on the mend. That’s great to hear.

Get well soon, lad.
