Lidl launches Oktoberfest-themed booze with prices starting at just 59p

The special Bavarian drinks are being launched to celebrate the famous annual festival starting next weekend in Munich, Germany.

LIDL is launching five Oktoberfest-themed drinks, with prices starting at just 59p, in honour of the famous German festival.

The budget supermarket has announced it is releasing the special Bavarian booze in time for the event in Munich, which begins next weekend.

To mark the occasion, you can now get your hands on a shandy-style Naturtrübes Radler for just 59p, or for 99p, pick up a Festbier or Wheat Beer.

And the limited edition Festbier & Stein for £4.49 will allow customers to fully embrace the spirit of Oktoberfest as it comes equipped with a giant glass.

If you don't fancy beer, the Zünftler Black Forest Cherry Schnapps (40% ABV) will also be up for grabs at £14.99.

Oktoberfest celebrations, complete with beer, bratwurst and everything Bavarian, will also be held across the UK, including the cities of Edinburgh and Manchester.

Made in Chelsea star Ashley James launched Erdinger Oktoberfest, which will be staged at Greenwich Peninsula, close to the O2.

Oktoberfest, which runs for more than two weeks, attracts 7.1 million visitors a year.

Men traditionally dress in the unmistakable lederhosen outfits, while women wear tight-fitting and eye-catching dirndl dresses.
