Armed cop ‘accidentally’ tasers his own police van while singing and ‘jiggling about’ to Bhangra music
PC Jesse Antonelli was "messing around and jiggling about" when he triggered the electronic stun gun
AN armed cop accidentally tasered his own police van while dancing to Bhangra music.
PC Jesse Antonelli, 40, was “jiggling about” in front of colleagues when he set off the stun gun.
PC Antonelli, who has been in the police for 14 years, claims he did not know the Taser had gone off but just thought it was damaged, and so did not tell his boss.
The dad-of-two who moved from the United States as a marine, added: "I'm sorry this happened, I'm sorry for the aggravation for allowing the discharge to happen".
It sent wires and barbs flying inside the van near Heathrow.
CCTV footage was played to the hearing in which PC Antonelli could be heard singing along to authentic Indian music, with other officers in cars parked nearby could be heard laughing in the background as he waved his arms in he air.
The Met Police officer, also accused of breaking gun guidelines, told a disciplinary panel: “It is one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.”
He admits misconduct but denies gross misconduct. Case continues.
