Party girl, 29, said she ‘kissed and hugged’ Wayne Rooney before drink-drive arrest
A PARTY girl has revealed she spent a whirlwind night boozing with Wayne Rooney before he was nicked for drink-driving.
Laura Simpson, 29, said he drove her ten-year-old VW Beetle after she joined his ten-hour session sinking prosecco and vodka. She added: “It’s been a mad few hours.”
The £130,000-a-week ace, 31, was left “pi**ed off and worried”, and facing a showdown with pregnant wife Coleen, who has since been pictured back in the UK, after being nicked for drink-driving at the end of a ten-hour party session.
The footie star was caught at the wheel of Lauren Simpson’s ten-year-old VW Beetle after he offered to drive her home.
Lettings office manager Laura said she was too drunk to remember where they were stopped.
The 29-year-old added: “We were just driving and then there was just blue flashing lights behind us. Wayne was pi**ed right off. And really worried about it.
“I didn’t know what to make of it, it all happened so fast. It was a whirlwind. I don’t know if it’s because I was that drunk but he didn’t seem that drunk to me.”
Rooney, 31, and his pals were out to give former Man United star Wes Brown a final send-off before he left to play in India.
They started their session with a meal at Italian restaurant Piccolino in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, at 4pm.
Then went on to the nearby Bubble Room cocktail bar, where Rooney, whose pregnant wife Coleen was on holiday 1,300 miles away in Majorca, was dancing on the tables belting out Oasis songs.
There, the former England skipper was introduced to Laura, from Irlam, Gtr Manchester.
She said they knocked back the booze — and he ogled her boobs.
Laura said: “I got to the bar around 10pm. He introduced himself with his mate and we sat down and had a talk and had a laugh.
Furious Coleen jets in from Spain to confront husband Wayne Rooney over arrest and give him final warning
FURIOUS Coleen Rooney jetted in from Majorca yesterday to confront her husband.
Close pals of the couple warned she is worried he is “going off the rails” and has put him on a final warning.
Col, who is four months pregnant, had been enjoying a break with the couple’s three sons, Kai, seven, Klay, four, and one-year-old Kit when news broke of Wayne’s drink-driving arrest.
The 31-year-old was described as “livid and embarrassed” after the revelations — said to follow a series of incidents which have made friends worried about the footballer’s behaviour.
A source close to the couple revealed: “There’s a feeling he is going off the rails.
“Coleen has previously put him on a final warning to shape up and this has emphasised the need for real change.”
“He kept admiring my boobs in my clingy top and asking what size they were.
"He asked if they were real and said, ‘I’d like to get my hands on them’. I laughed, he was being flirty and I didn’t tell him my boobs are fake.
“It’s not every night you meet a famous footballer and it wasn’t that I was star-struck, I just liked talking to him.
“Yes he’s a bit of a lad, and I was drunk but I was doing nothing wrong. I’m not a marriage wrecker.
“It was all playful fun and I’d had loads to drink. We had a kiss, a hug and some banter — harmless fun. Then we left. I got taken out the front, while the taxi I got put in was made to go around the back of the bar to pick Wayne up.
“We got the taxi to go and pick up my car. I was too drunk to drive and as it was just me and him he offered to drive. I don’t really know where we were planning on going.
“I couldn’t even tell you where we got picked up because I was quite drunk. We were sharing bottles of wine and as we were sat down it just hits you a little bit harder doesn’t it?”
Wayne Rooney’s long history of own goals – it’s not the first time the Everton star has been in the doghouse
- In 2010 prostitute Helen Wood claimed he paid for a threesome with Jenny Thompson.
Escort Jenny charged up to £1,200 a night.
She is said to have had the romp with Rooney while wife Coleen was five months pregnant with their son Kai.
- In 2015 The Sun revealed video of Wayne getting knocked out in a kitchen “bout” with fellow footballer Phil Bardsley.
The pals decided to exchange punches before a left-hand jab floored Rooney.
Wayne then recreated it in his celebration for a goal against Tottenham the day the embarrassing incident was published.
- And last year Wayne, then England captain, was snapped at a wedding party in a posh hotel so drunk he could barely stand.
Rooney, who this week announced his retirement from England so he could concentrate on his club career, was nicked three miles away at 2am and later charged with drink-driving.
He was 20 minutes away from the £4million mansion he shares with Coleen and their three sons.
Laura said: “The police didn’t take a statement from me.
“I didn’t have any involvement with the police side of things they kept me well away.
“The police drove my car to my friend’s house where I was meant to be staying that night — and where I ended up staying.
“I think them taking it to my friend’s was down to Wayne to be honest. I wasn’t in the car, they took him out of the car and I didn’t see him again.

“It’s been a mad few hours. A lot of people are trying to get in touch with me. My poor car’s been slated on Twitter.
"People have been joking he deserved to be arrested for driving a VW Beetle.
“I love my car. It’s ten years old. It’s not the best, but it has a soft top roof.”
A dishevelled Rooney was released from Middlewich Police Station, Cheshire, at 1.30 pm yesterday. He was unshaven and slumped in the back seat of a car urgently making phone calls.
Earlier in the evening, Rooney had been seen partying hard with pals including Burnley star Phil Bardsley and Everton team-mate goalie Jordan Pickford, who withdrew from the national team squads owing to injury earlier this week.
Rooney posed for a picture with cricketer Jack McIver, who posted the photograph on Instagram at about 10pm, and then went on from the Bubble Room.
Singer Neil Shaw Hulme performed at the bar with band Funky Treacle and played Oasis classic Wonderwall to the rowdy crowd.
He told The Sun: “There were a lot of people in there last night drinking and it was a particularly vibrant crowd.
“When we did what was going to be the last number — Mr Blue Sky — they were actually booing all the way through because they wanted Oasis so we did do Wonderwall.
"People were singing their heads off, it was actually quite funny. Everyone was happy when we played it.”
After the Bubble Room, the group headed a few miles to club Symposium in Wilmslow to continue the celebrations.
Symposium owner George Yiannis said: “He had his night out and he left but I’m not too sure what time as I was so busy behind the bar.
“Then I woke up to the news that he had been done for drink-driving. It isn’t a great thing to do and we wouldn’t encourage anyone to do it. But me and the staff were busy indoors so didn’t see him be arrested.”
Neil said he did not see Rooney at the bar but admitted he wouldn’t recognise him anyway.
Last night, Rooney was preparing himself for a dressing down from Coleen who flew back into Manchester just after 5pm.
A source said: “Wayne and the lads organised an early evening get together because it’s international week and they had some time away from the limelight and they wanted to give Wes a proper goodbye celebration.
“They had a great night out and there was no sign of any trouble. They mixed with fans and Wayne was happy to pose for pictures.
“But then for some reason Rooney got behind the wheel.
“There aren’t many cars on the road at that time but something attracted a passing police patrol to Wayne’s car and he was pulled over.
“He was breathalysed and arrested and spent the night in a police cell.”
“His arrest couldn’t have come at a worse time. Coleen’s pregnant and the couple were on cloud nine but this has ruined everything.
“It’ could make life very difficult as he has a 90-mile round trip to Everton’s training ground from his home and now he might not be able to drive.”
Meanwhile, he was also being widely ridiculed on social media where commenters posted memes mocking his arrest.
Posting alongside a video of his ‘knockout’ goal celebration against Tottenham in 2015, when Rooney threw punches to the air and then pretended to be KO’d, Adam Tomlinson joked: “Wayne Rooney arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
"Scenes when he pretends to down a pint during his next goal celebration.”
And next to a picture of a toddler falling out of his buggy, Julie Taylor quipped: “I see Wayne Rooney is been (sic) done for drink driving.”
Scott Barton posted a video of a sports car crashing while joking: “Exclusive footage of Wayne Rooney moments before being pulled by police last night on suspicion of drink-driving.”
Rooney hung up his England boots as the country’s all-time record scorer — achieving 53 goals for his country in 119 appearances.
At the time, he was the youngest footballer to play for England when he made his international debut in 2003 at the age of 17.
His arrest comes 13 years to the day since he first signed for Manchester United.
He re-joined his boyhood club Everton in the summer and scored in each of his opening two Premier League games.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “The man was arrested shortly after 2.00am today, Friday 1 September, after officers stopped a black VW Beetle on Altrincham Road, Wilmslow.
“Wayne Rooney has since been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit.”
He’s been released on bail and will appear at Stockport magistrates’ court on September 18.
An official spokesman declined to comment.
Rooney is not the first international footballer to be stopped on suspicion of drink driving this year.
In February, Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, 25, was banned from the road for 12 months and fined £20,000 after he was breathalysed at 3am on Christmas Eve.
