The pair, of Sittingbourne, Kent, got hitched in 1996 and renewed their vows for the first time five years ago.

Days later, hospital radiographer Kristiana revealed she wanted to live as a woman.

Midwife Denise, 44, was initially shocked but the couple stayed together as her partner transitioned.

Son Stephen, 14, walked them down the aisle on Thursday at a hotel in Ospringe, Kent.

Happy Kristiana, 49, said: “Something which could have torn us apart, actually brought us together.”
