Waiter fired after writing racist slur on Asian customer’s receipt – calling her ‘Ching Chong’
Pal of Asian diner posts pic of shocking receipt online sparking fury and calls to boycott restaurant in New York
A WAITER has been sacked for writing a racist slur on an Asian diner's receipt.
Ziggy Chau was appalled when she looked at the ticket for her friend's mum's steak takeaway — which said the order was for "Ching Chong".
She complained to staff at Cornerstone Cafe in Manhattan, New York, before posting a pic of her receipt online.
She said: "This just happened to my friend’s mother…right here in NYC!".
After being shared on social media, cafe manager Rocco replied to the photo.
He wrote: "This situation leaves me no choice than to terminate this employee for this unjustified act.
"It definitely does not reflect the way the Cornerstone staff or I think because of one individual's stupidity."
Locals are still calling for a boycott of the restaurant after the apology.

But one social media user defended the restaurant, saying: "Everyone, let’s be civilised now.
"There are many people that are employed by the restaurant whose livelihoods depend on their jobs there and should not suffer because ONE IGNORANT employee thought it was OK to make a racist remark."
