Barcelona terror attack – Two cops run over when Ford Focus crashes through terror roadblock and car chase ends with cops gunning down suspect
A DRIVER ran into two officers at a Barcelona police checkpoint after the Las Ramblas terror attack earlier today, cops said.
Spanish media had earlier reported that at least one policeman was injured at the checkpoint.
Cops said there is no evidence yet whether the incident was linked to the van attack in the city centre, which killed at least 13 people on Las Ramblas avenue.
Catalan police made the announcement on Twitter this evening.
The suspect who rammed two police officers in the outskirts of the city was found dead two and a half miles away from the checkpoint.
Officers were trying to determine if he was killed by cops shooting him, or if he took his life.
Local media reports say a white Ford Focus ran over the officers and then was intercepted by police two miles away.
That's where troopers shot one man dead.
