Gutted builder only manages to raise £181 from the Go Fund Me page he set up to pay £5,500 damages after guests smash up pad he rented for party

A HORRIFIED builder hit with a £5,000 bill after dozens of yobs trashed a party pad he rented for his birthday hasn’t been able to raise the cash on Go Fund Me - after pals refused to cough up.
Alex Moran invited 14 mates to celebrate with him at the six-bed property in Perthshire but the party ended in disaster after more than 50 people turned up.
The mob smashed a hot tub, wrecked furniture and let off fire extinguishers at Blackwater Outdoor Centre.
And when he was handed the hefty bill for the damage, he appealed to pals and the internet for help to raise the cash.
But gutted Alex has only managed to generate £181 of his £5,500 target.
The paltry cash was donated by 12 backers and the campaign still has nine days to run.
The catalogue of destruction included a wrecked hot tub, smashed plates, broken wardrobe, stained duvets and discharged fire extinguishers.
Alex said he had invited 14 mates to celebrate with him at the six-room building near Bridge of Cally.
But within a day there were 50 people in the venue.
He explained at the time: “On the Friday it was just me and a few pals. It was absolutely fine.
“On Saturday we were just sitting in the hot tub and playing music. But as the day went on, more and more people arrived.
“Word had obviously got out through social media as friends of friends started turning up. There were a lot there who I didn’t know."
Alex added: “By the time I fell asleep the place was in reasonable condition, with no damage.
“But when I woke up the next day I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
“The place was in chaos and only a few pals were still there.
“Someone had thrown a cinder block in the hot tub but I didn’t realise how badly damaged it was as there was still water in it.”
Alex then got a letter from the centre’s owners, Live Active Leisure, telling him: “The cost of the damage is in the region of £2,000.”
And Penguin Hot Tubs Ltd sent a text confirming he has to pay them £3,500 plus VAT.
But an update on his fundraising page said: "Might not have to pay for the hot tub after all. Asked for pictures of the damage and they've started ignoring me.
"Still a fair whack away from the cleaning bill though.
"Cheers to everyone who's helped out so far! Really appreciate it."
In June, it was reported that more than 100 party-goers held a noisy "all-night rave" at an Airbnb flat in Maida Vale, North-west London.
