But the London Stock Exchange was hit with tragedy when a man fell to his death from the seventh floor in August 2017 - so what actually happened?
What do we know about the death in Paternoster Square?
The middle-aged City trader landed in the lobby of the building, dying at the scene.
Witnesses described the incident as "awful".
A City of London Police spokesman told media: "We were called to the London Stock Exchange in Paternoster Square on Tuesday, 15 August at 9.58am to a report of a man who had fallen from an upper floor in the building to the ground."
A London Stock Exchange Group spokesman paid tribute to the man, saying: "Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of our dear colleague."
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Where is the London Stock Exchange?
The London Stock Exchange sits in Paternoster Square, close to St Paul's Cathedral.
It is south of the Museum of London.
It opens at 8am, closing at 4.30pm, from Monday to Friday.
The Royal Exchange building was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and had to be rebuilt three years later.
