‘Secure’ compound used by ‘luxury’ Heathrow parking firm exposed as a muddy field surrounded by broken fence guarded by sleeping staff
Cars are left abandoned bumper to bumper in a field with broken barriers, a derelict kiosk and a worker asleep on the job
A LUXURY meet-and-greet airport parking service is dumping customers’ cars in the middle of a unsecured field.
Emirates Parking claims it has a fenced and floodlit compound with round-the-clock security.
It says only authorised staff are allowed inside the site a few miles from Heathrow Airport.
But our team was able to walk in unchallenged and the only worker was asleep in a Mercedes.
Luxury cars were lined up bumper to bumper in the field or along its dirt tracks.
Customer Adrian Sawford was shocked when he saw the state of the site. He said: “This company is a complete joke and should not be allowed to operate.”
The field, in Langley, Berks, has floppy barbed wire fences, broken barriers, a derelict kiosk and two unlocked storage units with boxes of documents.
Paperwork with customers’ contact details was strewn across the ground along with broken glass from a recent break-in.
Yet more than 200 cars, worth well over £500,000 and including a £60,000 Porsche 911 and £35,000 Rolls-Royce, were parked there.
Adrian paid £45 to use the Emirates service for a week while he flew to Ottawa, Canada.
He was reluctantly taken to the site by staff to fix a flat tyre on his £40,000 Dodge Ram.
Adrian, 59, from Northampton, found the tyre was hanging off, and damage to the wheel rim cost £600 to repair. He said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw the car park.
“It has none of what it advertises.”
No one from Emirates was available for comment.
