Now, the couple are awaiting confirmation of a date for their ceremony from the authorities.
reports it's expected they'll wed before Bronson's parole hearing in the autumn.
Paula, 36, who has been in Coronation Street and played a stripper in Emmerdale, said before the pair got engaged: “We are so in love. I’ve had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie.
“He’s so eccentric, but so am I. It’s a perfect match.
“I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different.
“He has done a lot of artwork for me and I really treasure each and every one.
“He can never change the things he has done in the past, but he is working so hard to put that behind him."
Paula also revealed Bronson is having her ring specially made.
She told the Mirror: “It will be inscribed CPS for Charlie Paula Salvador – but also because it stands for the Crown Prosecution Service. That’s Charlie’s sense of humour."
Armed robber Bronson has been behind bars for 41 years, 37 in solitary confinement, after repeatedly having his sentence increased for attacking prison staff and taking them hostage.
He has taken up art and now goes by the name Charles Salvador, in a nod to his favourite artist Salvador Dali.
