Eccentric MP Jacob Rees-Mogg becomes one of the Tories’ most successful Tweeters after just 22 days on the social media site

TORY MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has become one of the party’s most successful Tweeters – after just 22 days on the social media network.

And analysis done by the shows his messages are seen and liked by more people than any of the cabinet – including Theresa May.

For every tweet, Mr Rees-Mogg typically achieves 1,574 likes from other users, compared with an average for cabinet members of just 56.

His first tweet is his second most liked – which gained over 1,700 shares and 3,300 likes.

“Tempora mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis”, he wrote, which translates from Latin as “The times change, and we change with them”.

The MP regularly to post out articles he’s quoted in – which include many about Brexit.

The Somerset politician attracted attention for naming his sixth child Sixtus last month, adding another boy to the clan.

Brexiteer Rees-Mogg also last week praised a teenager who used the longest word recorded on the parliamentary state.

Though he says he has no ambitions to attempt to become Tory leader, his supporters are behind him all the way and have even began fundraising a campaign for him.

A Tory activist recently took the ultimate display of dedication to the MP, by getting a ‘Moggmentum’ tattoo across his chest.

The word is a play on Labour’s grassroots movement Momentum, and has been adopted by supporters of the MP.

Mr Mogg was so impressed he invited the young lad for tea in parliament next month.
