A MUSLIM family claims a McDonald's worker in Alabama deliberately put bacon in their chicken sandwiches.
The New York family, who were visiting the city of Decatur, were horrified when they discovered pork in 14 sandwiches - causing one of them to vomit.
Islam forbids its followers from eating pork.
Khaula Hadeed, the head of the Alabama chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called the alleged incident "an intentional act of religious and ethnic bigotry".
contacted the the McDonald's franchisee's director of operations, who could not immediately be reached for comment.
Hadeed said the family stopped for a snack after a day out at the Point Mallard Water Park.
She said: "They ordered 14 sandwiches. They started noticing it tasted different to them. They eat McChicken all the time at McDonald's.
"They knew what they ordered - they know what's in the sandwich."
One of the family found a small piece of bacon in one of the sandwiches, so the family checked the others and were horrified to discover they were all affected.
Hadeed added: "It doesn't sound like a mistake, especially on 14 sandwiches.
";(The family) are essentially disturbed about it.";
She has urged McDonald's to probe the incident, check CCTV cameras in the restaurant and kitchen, and fire any staff members who are found to have tampered with the food.
Last week a diner was left disgusted when she opened her lunch – only to find what appeared to be a large dead moth lurking inside.
The woman, who did not want to be named, went to McDonald’s in Aberdare, Wales, as a midweek “treat” with friends.
