Prankster spends three months pretending to be a woman while texting fake ‘diet fails’ to female slimmer… before revealing he’s a 28-year-old bloke
Engineer Oisin Midwinter concocted outlandish stories about banana drinks and take-away pizzas
A PRANKSTER spent three months pretending to be a female slimmer - before finally revealing that he was a 28-year-old MAN.
The ruse saw engineer Osian Midwinter exchange a series of outlandish messages about his weight loss battle with a slimming group leader.
Osian says the confusion came about when he received a text message out of the blue intended for a woman named Anna.
He said: "It is really easy to text the wrong number by mistake. Even though my screenshots show my picture, if she didn't have the same make of phone as me she would have had no idea I was a man rather than a lady called Anna."
He then began impersonating Anna and on one occasion concocted an outlandish story about how banana drinks had played havoc with his insides.
He wrote: “Sorry for the delay, I’ve been stuck on the toilet all morning it feels like!
“I think it’s these banana drinks! It’s very unpleasant!!!”
In another exchange he jokes about getting a takeaway for hitting a weight loss target.
He wrote: “Omg if I win I’ll defo be treating myself to a Dominoes in work on Wednesday!!!!”
Remote engineer Osian, from Bangor, north Wales, said: "I like to have a laugh I'm a joker and a bit of a pest, the replies just came naturally to me.
"When I got the text through [in May] I just thought 'I'm going to have a bit of fun with this', so I replied back about the banana drinks.
"The funny thing was that when I text her about them she asked me how many syns were in them and I had no idea.
"I had to search for them on the internet so that I wouldn't get found out – that was a close call.

"I did feel bad when I was texting her but I would have never let it escalate to where someone would be getting their feelings hurt, I'm a joker but I'm not a horrible person.
"I don't know how the texts haven't come up in person [between the group leader and Anna] because the messages are pretty ridiculous."
The prank came to an end when Osian fessed up and sent the group leader a smiling selfie.
Osian said: "She took it really well to be honest, I was worried she might bite back or be annoyed but she seemed okay with it. Maybe it's happened before, you never know.
"At least in the future if I decide to lose some weight I know who to go to for slimming advice. She seems like a really lovely lady and very supportive of her group members."
In April we reported how a husband pranked his wife by claiming their baby son had accidentally shaved his hair off completely.
After a heated discussion between the couple including pictures being sent, the husband comes clean and states it is merely a photoshop job and their son's hair is still intact.
