Sadiq Khan lashes out at Donald Trump for acting like a 12-year-old after London Bridge attack as he reveals he used hatred of the US President to campaign in the general election
SADIQ KHAN has hit back at Donald Trump by claiming he was acting like a 12-year-old after the London Bridge attacks.
The London Mayor got into a spat with the US President after he criticised him in the morning after the atrocity which left eight people dead.
Mr Trump had tweeted: “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’" when Mr Khan was attempting to reassure the city following the attack.

He said: "The basic rule amongst politicians and amongst leaders is a sense of solidarity—it is almost like our version of Nato Article 5.
"So I was extremely surprised when the President of the USA, our strongest ally, said what he said. It was disappointing, to be honest."
Later on a spokesperson for Khan said that President Trump had taken the Mayor’s words out of context, but the President tweeted again, calling it a “pathetic excuse.”
asked if he had got under Mr Trump's skin.
He replied: “The short answer is I don’t know, but I can understand if we were both aged twelve years old."

The pair have clashed on numerous occasions in the past - most memorably when Mr Trump proposed a ban on Muslims entering the United States.
The London Mayor also revealed in the interview that he had used Brits' resentment of the US President to campaign in this summer's general election.
He told activists while campaigning for his successor in Tooting: “You need to remind yourself how you felt when you stayed up during the night to watch the results of the Brexit vote.
"I want you to remember how you felt when you watched the American elections in November.
"We don’t want to feel that way."
Mr Trump was due to come on a state visit to Britain later this year, but a furious backlash has put it on the backburner.
The Sun recently revealed that the US President begged Theresa May to fix a "warm welcome" for him - and said he won't set a date until he knows he will get a better reception.
It was reported earlier this week that Mr Trump may get a "trial run" to the UK including talks with the Prime Minister - to determine whether he can avoid embarrassing the Queen.
Mr Khan has said the leader shouldn't get the full state visit - and warned that the UK will NOT roll out the red carpet for him.
