'WE KEEP GRANNY DIANA ALIVE'

Prince William reveals he is determined to pass his mother’s memory on to George and Charlotte by ‘constantly’ talking about her – but reckons she’d have been a ‘nightmare gran’

Princess would 'come in and cause a scene — and then leave', says royal

PRINCE William revealed he is determined to pass his mother's memory on to George and Charlotte by "constantly talking about granny Diana."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have put pictures of the princess around the house so the youngsters will feel like they've grown up with her.

And Will said he was eager to spend as much time with George and Charlotte as possible - to cherish the early years just as Diana had done with him and Harry.

The Duke said: "So we've got more photos up round the house now of her and we talk about her a bit and stuff.

"And it's hard because obviously Katherine didn't know her, so she cannot really provide that level of detail.

"So I do, regularly, putting George or Charlotte to bed, talk about her and just try and remind them that there are two grandmothers, there were two grandmothers in their lives.

"And so it's important that they know who she was and that she existed.

"She'd be a nightmare grandmother, absolute nightmare.

"She'd love the children to bits, but she'd be an absolute nightmare.

"She'd come and go and she'd come in probably at bath time, cause an amazing amount of scene, bubbles everywhere, bathwater all over the place and then leave.

"I want to make as much time and effort with Charlotte and George as I can because I realise that these early years particularly are crucial for children, and having seen what she did for us."
