Holidaymakers faced delays of two hours after more than 140 employees walked out
BRITS heading to and from Ibiza Airport faced travel chaos after dozens of airport security staff packed up and went on strike today.
Thousands of passengers queued for two hours to get through security after Prosegur employees walked out at midnight.
Flights were delayed and holidaymakers heading home from the Spanish island were forced to wait in the heat for several hours.
More than 140 employees, who are complaining about work overload and their salaries, have gone on an indefinite strike.
One passenger, Krystal, tweeted: "Ibiza airport strikes not cool."
Another passenger, Simon Farrell, said: "I had to queue for two hours and it was horrendous.
"There were hardly any staff on security and it was really hot.
"It was chaos. Kids were crying and everyone was fed up.

"It was a miserable way to end the holiday."
Passengers were advised to arrive at least three hours before their flights and there were reports police were called in to replace the striking staff.
This weekend more than 1.000 flights are operating out of the airport in Eivissa and around 160,000 people are set to pass through the terminal.
The delays come after British tourists were left appalled in May when cleaners went on strike at Ibiza Airport.
Angry tourists posted images on social media of overflowing bins during the walkout.
