GARY Lineker nips out to a coffee chain in LA to save a few dollars on a drink, despite his £1.6million BBC pay packet.
The Match of the Day presenter, 56, left the £1,000-a-night Wardorf Astoria — where a cup of coffee costs £7 — to buy a £2.80 Starbucks drink to take away.
Gary was this week revealed as the BBC’s second-highest paid talent.
Lineker had been quick to mock concerns over his salary which was revealed earlier this week as the BBC published the earnings of its highest-paid stars.
The pay packet the equivalent of 12,500 licence fees or the salaries of 68 NHS nurses.
