Prince George turns Poland tour frown upside down in official photo released to celebrate his fourth birthday
Young Royal was shy and uncomfortable during a tour of Poland and Germany this week - but he can really crack a smile when he wants to
THAT’S better George!
The official photo issued to mark his fourth birthday shows a genuinely happy little boy.
A real contrast to His Royal Shyness on this week’s tour of Poland and Germany.
Seeing George’s contorted face, his body turning away from the camera, I instantly remembered his dad.
Prince William was just the same at that age.
In the car on the way to his first day at school, his mother Princess Di told Wills there would be lots of photographers waiting and he would have to get used to it.
He replied: “Well, I’m not. I don’t like Tographers!”
When he got to Wetherby Prep School in his new uniform, William turned to face the media looking grumpy.
He knows exactly what is going through his son’s mind and is keen to protect him for the ordeal he went through as a child.
When George starts school in September there will be no media scrum.
The official picture will be done discreetly by just one photographer, or even Kate herself.
But William knows that when you are representing the Queen on a royal tour, the charm offensive requires everyone to play their part — even if you are just four.
Like father, like Son
