A MAN has pleaded guilty to murdering his younger brother by dousing him in petrol before burning down their family home on New Year's Day.

Blair Logan, 27, admitted to pouring petrol onto his brother Cameron, and the 23-year-old's girlfriend Rebecca Williams, as the couple slept after returning from a January 1 party.

The 27-year-old was said to have had a "hostile relationship" with his brother - but the court heard he told police "I didn't want to kill him".

Defence lawyer Shelagh McCall QC told the High Court in Glasgow that Logan showed "wicked recklessness" but did not intend to kill his brother.

He was said to have "felt physically sick at the whole thing".

The attack was said to be in retaliation for a recent incident at the house in Milngavie, near Glasgow when his brother had punched him.

Bex spent three weeks in hospital fighting for her life after being hauled from the flames by Cameron’s dad David.
