She gave birth to a son she named Archie and, after ringing midwives, she was told to make her way to Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

She says she was then forced to endure an agonising wait there until she was seen.

“It was a horrific three hours, which I will never, ever forget.

“I had Archie wrapped in a blanket inside my handbag because I couldn’t face seeing him.

“I was being sick while I was in the waiting room because I was so scared and shaken.

“After such a traumatic experience all I wanted was be at home with my children, not in a public place.”

She went on to accuse A&;E staff of lacking "compassion" and "respect".

Wedding planner Tammy and her partner Shaun Hammond, 44, discovered they were expecting their first child together in April.

But on June 13 she began feeling crippling stomach pain before giving birth at home.

Daughter Jamie-Leigh, 14, helped her mum deliver the child.

Tammy told how immediately afterwards she rang Queen's Hospital and was told a midwife would come out to visit her at home.

But several hours later she got a call back telling her to make her way to the hospital.

She was driven to A&E by relatives and arrived at around 7pm.

After eventually seeing a doctor the mother-of-two handed her son over to the staff and was told she would be put in touch with bereavement workers – but claimed no one spoke to her for another 48 hours.
