FAKE PENIS PERV JAILED

Ex-private schoolgirl Gayle Newland who used £20 sex toy and blindfold to trick her pal into sex by pretending to be a man drops to the floor in tears and yells ‘NO!’ as judge jails her for six years

A WOMAN who used a fake willy to trick her blindfolded friend into thinking she was having sex with a man was jailed for six and a half years today.

Sobbing Gayle Newland, 27, dropped to the floor of the dock and cried out "No!" as a judge sent her to jail for the second time.

The former private schoolgirl wooed the victim after creating a bogus online persona in an "disturbingly complex and astonishing deception" lasting two years.

She manipulated an emotionally vulnerable student then used a £20 strap-on sex toy to romp with her between ten and 15 times while posing as a man, a court heard.

Newland was sentenced to eight years' prison for the same crimes in 2015 but was freed on appeal last year.

Last month she screamed "I can't go back to jail" after being convicted at a retrial of three sexual assaults. She was cleared of a fourth count.

Today the judge sentenced her to six years for the assaults, plus another six months for scamming her employer while she was on bail.

Judge David Stockdale QC said: “It is difficult to conceive of a deceit so degrading or damaging to the victim on its discovery."

The judge added: “You went to extraordinary lengths to manipulate and control her. Only when your control of her was absolute did you put your deceit to the ultimate test.

“This was a deceit of such subtlety and cunning in its planning, and was a deceit from your point of view so successful in its execution, that an outsider to this case might find the facts difficult to comprehend.

"In this case the truth, the whole truth, is as surprising as it is profoundly disturbing."

He said Newland had shown no remorse and not acknowledged the wrong she did to her victim.

Newland looked towards her tearful mum and dad in the public gallery, who blew kisses as she was led to the cells still sobbing in distress.

Marketing manager Newland seduced her victim online posing as a half-Filipino, half-Latino named Kye Fortune.

Claiming to be self-conscious after treatment for a brain tumour, she used bandages, a woolly hat and a swimsuit to hide her body.

The victim said she was so in love with "Kye" she agreed to wear a blindfold and scarf and had her hands tied each time they had sex.

She finally discovered the truth in 2013 when she slipped off the mask and saw Newland wearing the prosthetic penis.

She said: "There was no point until the day I took the blindfold off that I thought for one second that a woman was the person behind this."

Newland's accuser said she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression as a result of the deception.

She said in a victim statement how she went "off the rails" and self-harmed, and felt "dirty" and ashamed. Her ordeal continued through the two trials as she struggled to pass her exams and rebuild her life.

She said: “Gayle has plagued or poisoned my life for four years minimum.

"My youth, personality and vitality have been taken.”

Newland, of Willaston, Cheshire, insisted the other woman knew her gender all along and they were taking part in a shared fantasy.

She told the court she had created Kye's Facebook profile, using photos and videos of an American man, at the age of 15 because she found it difficult to talk to girls.

But the jury found her guilty after being told she went to extraordinary lengths to dupe her victim and achieve "bizarre sexual satisfaction".

The first conviction at Chester Crown Court in November 2015 was quashed by the Court of Appeal last December after criticism of the judge's summing up.

Mental health experts had blasted the original jail term, saying troubled Newland should not have been locked up and needed psychiatric care.

Newland is the daughter of a former building firm boss and grew up in a £500,000 house in the Wirral.

She was educated at £12,400-a-year Queen's School in Chester and later worked as a marketing executive and a personal trainer.

The fraud conviction can be reported for the first time today after she admitted swindling the internet ad agency where she worked while awaiting her first sex trial.

She created at least ten bogus profiles for bloggers that were paid for promoting clients' products. Newland pocketed at least £9,000.

Newland will have to sign the sex offenders register for life and is banned from seeking to befriend anyone using a false identity.

She was also banned from owning a device that can access the internet under the terms of a life-long sexual harm prevention order.

Her barrister had urged the judge to spare her custody as she has been diagnosed with a range of conditions including anxiety, Asperger's and gender dysphoria.

Newland's alter ego

TWISTED Gayle Newland duped three other women online into believing she was a half-Filipino half-Latino man named Kye Fortune, the retrial heard.

One of the women woman spoke to her over the phone and online for a five-year period before she eventually worked out she had been deceived.

In a statement read to Newland's sex assault retrial at Manchester Crown Court, the woman said she received a Facebook friend request from the "quite good looking" Kye Carlo Fortune in 2009.

Phone numbers were exchanged soon after and she noticed his voice was quite high-pitched.

"He said he was not blessed with a deep voice," she said.

The woman told the court they would speak on Facetime and added: "My face was visible on the screen but he never showed me his face on screen.

"I would say to him 'it's called Facetime, show me your face', but he said it made him too anxious and to stop pressuring him.

"Sometimes Kye would Facetime me while walking the dog. The dog was called Gypsy."

She said in October 2013 that Kye said how his friend had fallen in love with him and he had rejected her.

Kye told him the woman was "bitter", had "plotted against him" and the police had been to his house, she said.

She said that in April 2014 she was looking at some photographs that Kye had posted or had been tagged in.

She said: "I recognised Kye's dog Gypsy. Kye was not in the picture. The photo on the profile was of a girl called Gayle Newland."

She decided to ring Kye as an "unknown number" and asked to speak to Gayle Newland.

"The same voice said 'speaking'," she said.

"I knew that Gayle Newland had been pretending to be Kye Fortune. I hung up immediately."

Newland told the court: "They didn't know me as Gayle. That was my coping mechanism at the end of the day. I don't expect you to understand. My coping mechanism could have been a lot worse."
