British tourist, 19, ‘raped in nightclub toilets by Costa del Sol sex predator’ while on holiday in Malaga
Spanish man aged 34 arrested after he was identified from CCTV footage
POLICE have arrested a Spaniard accused of raping a teenage British holidaymaker in a Costa del Sol nightclub.
The 34-year-old suspect was held after being identified by the 19-year-old tourist at a police station.
The alleged victim told a doorman at the trendy Sala Gold nightclub in Malaga a man had sexually assaulted her in the toilets.
When cops arrived she told them they had been kissing after meeting at the club when her alleged attacker forced himself on her despite her pleas for him to stop.
Her attempts to identify him inside the club proved unsuccessful and she backtracked over a man she initially pointed out when he was hauled outside and she saw him properly in the light.
But police sources said she identified the man who was eventually held “100 per cent” after he was identified as a suspect following analysis of CCTV footage and interviews with witnesses.
The teenager flew back to the UK following the July 11 attack and before the suspect was arrested and appeared in court last Friday.
She is now being asked to return to Spain to ratify her police statement so the Spanish authorities can consider prosecuting him.

Local reports said the suspect was reported to police two years ago by his ex-partner for allegedly indecently assaulting her after she refused to have sex with him in public.
It is not known if the complaint ended in court action.
The teenager is said to have been raped in the early hours of last Tuesday.
The same day another alleged Spanish sex beast living in nearby Fuengirola was arrested on suspicion of targeting four women including a British 19-year-old expat in the Costa holiday resort.
The victims told police a man armed with a screwdriver put the weapon to their throats and threatened to kill them to scare them into submission before driving off in a white van.
The first attack happened on May 31 and the British woman was targeted on July 6.
The 31-year-old suspect has been remanded in custody pending an ongoing court investigation after appearing before a magistrate in a closed court hearing.
