Camilla poses with Prince Charles for 70th birthday photo taken by Princess Diana’s favourite snapper
CAMILLA was a picture of youth in this 70th birthday picture by Princess Diana’s favourite snapper.
The Duchess of Cornwall glowed in a navy blue dress coat by Fiona Clare as she posed with the Prince of Wales by her side for photographer Mario Testino.
Mario was catapulted to fame after a series of pictures of the Princess of Wales published in Vanity Fair in July, 1997, a month before she died.
The photos of Prince Charles and Camilla were taken in the Morning Room at Clarence House in May but have been held back to mark Camilla’s milestone birthday.
Mario said: “I’m honoured to document Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on this very important date.
“I first photographed The Duchess after her wedding to The Prince on a commission from British Vogue in 2006, and discovered a kind and beautiful person with a wonderful sense of humour.
“Doing this latest assignment to celebrate Her Royal Highness’s 70th birthday is a true honour.”
The picture came as the Duchess of Cornwall vowed to tackle the scourge of loneliness in old age – by becoming patron of Dame Esther Rantzen’s charity The Silver Line.

The move will likely see her chatting to pensioners left passing their winter years with no one in their lives, who turn to the charity’s helpline for a chance to have a chat.
Camilla has just reached the average age of the people the charity helps and has reason to be thankful – as she was this weekend surrounded by friends at her birthday bash.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry were among guests at a glamorous shindig thrown by Prince Charles at Highgrove, in Glouc.
Dame Esther said: “The Duchess has an understanding and empathy for older people who are so often forgotten and undervalued in today’s busy world.”
