Terror informants face lie detector tests by cops to weed out lies and misinformation

TERROR informants are being given lie detector tests by police in a bid to weed out lies and misinformation.
The polygraphs are targeted at members of the criminal underworld to try to confirm what they have to say.

The scheme is being headed by the Met’s Mark Rowley, Britain’s most senior counter- ­terrorism cop, says The Sunday Times.

It follows four terror strikes in four months that have claimed dozens of lives.
Critics have  blamed the attacks on a lack of quality intelligence, but MI5 and the police say they are struggling with an increased workload since the emergence of IS in Syria and Iraq.
Scotland Yard refused to comment.
