Magaluf cops attend 1,600 calls in less than two months in Brit holiday hotspot as rowdy behaviour soars despite crackdown on boozy tourists
Spanish cops had to deal with illegal street selling, nudism and sex from boozed up holidaymakers
MAGALUF has seen a rise in holidaymakers' unruly behaviour despite local efforts to clampdown on boozy Brits.
Cops were called out 1,672 times between May and June - an increase of 400 from last year.
Despite efforts to crack down on rowdy behaviour the latest figures show things are steadily getting worse.
Spanish cops had to deal with 687 incidents of bad behaviour during June.
The most common complaint related to illegal street selling with 472 complaints lodged to officials.
During the beginning of this year's holiday season 18 people were caught having sex in public.
There were also 46 cases of drug-taking, 40 of nudism and semi-nudism and 21 cases of boozing on the street.
The latest figures may prove worrying for Spanish tourist chiefs with thousands of Brits expected to jet off the party island for the summer.
In recent years the Majorcan resort has been working to rebrand itself as a family-friendly holiday destination rather than a magnet for boozy Brits.
Calvia Council rolled out a list of 64 banned activities including urinating in the street, begging, drinking alcohol in particular public spaces and climbing trees.
If broken tourists could be fined between €100 to €3,000 (£88 to £2,640).
Earlier this week local officials announced plans to limit all-inclusive booze offers at hotels in yet another attempt to clampdown on rowdy antics.
Officials have also recently introduced a new noise restriction law which prohibits bars and clubs from playing notoriously loud music.
