The sole occupant of the single-engine Cessna 152 was the pilot, who has not been identified.

Local news station WPLG headed to the area where they came upon a grisly scene.

Helicopter footage shows a body in a swamp next to the mangled wreckage — and an alligator wading nearby.

WPLG managing editor Peter Burke tweeted: “A gator appears to be chewing on a body next to the wreckage.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a probe.

Local cops said the crash scene was located at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

The small aircraft was registered to Air Christian Inc. located in Miami.

The same plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a highway in December 2015, WPLG reported.

It is not clear if the pilot during that 2015 incident is the same one involved in this week’s crash.
