Bradley Lowery’s family reveal cancer-battler is ‘fighting to stay with us’ as they ‘wait for our baby to take his last breath’ in heart-rending Facebook post
THE family of brave Bradley Lowery has revealed the cancer-battling mascot is "very close to going with the angels".
Devastated family friend Lynn Murphy said the nation's hero is "still fighting" in a heartbreaking update posted on Facebook this afternoon.
She described his parents' agony as they wait for their "baby to take his last breath".
Lynn, the family’s fundraising manager, wrote: "Bradley is still fighting to stay with us.
"Nobody knows where he is getting the strength from or how he is doing it.
"He has been very close to going with the angels but he pulls himself out of it.
"It is a hard time for us waiting and watching for our baby to take his last breath he started with fighting and he is ending with fighting" #nationshero#ourlittlefighter Xxxx."
Last month six-year-old Bradley's parents revealed he has just weeks to live.
His family has since confirmed on Facebook the young boy is "no longer responsive" but "listening to everything we say".
The England and Sunderland mascot's classmates performed a heart rending single in tribute to their terminally ill pal.
Year One pupils at the six-year-old’s school in Blackhall Colliery, County Durham, joined singing sister act Liv ‘n’ G for a special performance of his single Smile for Bradley.
The song raced to No.3 on the iTunes chart.
Last weekend Bradley's mum Gemma slammed fake Facebook and JustGiving pages set up to get likes as she reveals he is “very weak now”.
She said he is “fighting on” and will “only go when he decides” before she warned people to be aware of fake pages in his name.
She wrote: “Bradley is very weak now but is still fighting on in true Bradley style. He will only go when he decides, no one else.”
“We have been made aware of fake pages created in Bradley’s name to gain likes and even have justgiving pages linked to them, please be vigilant.
“Thankyou for your continued support and when the time comes it will be put on Bradley’s official Facebook (here) and twitter before anyone else.”
One page called Bradley Lower claims it is a fan page to support the youngster but has been inundated with comments saying it should be shut down and that it isn’t the official page.
