Shocking moment ‘out of order’ police officer hurls fracking protester to the ground

THIS is the shocking moment an “out of order” police officer hurls a fracking protester to the ground during a tense confrontation.

A protest being held at PR Marriotts in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, was attended by police officers who are seen in the footage attempting to move protesters away from the site.

However as a lorry tries to get through the small crowd, cops get into an altercation as they try and let the vehicle pass.

An officer is seen shoving a woman onto the floor following a brief struggle, prompting the fury of fellow protesters who then confront the police.

The camera phone which is recording then incident is then lowered as the crowd get into a heated exchange with cops.

Kate Needham posted: “Totally out of order. Today, I experienced for myself a bit of pushing and shoving with no provocation whatsoever.

“We were brought up to respect the police but if they loose it like this they are going to lose all respect from us good, honest members of the public.”

Footage from the incident was uploaded onto Facebook on Friday.

Protesters were involved in a heated exchange with the cops

Dan Tudor-Pole said: “Unreasonable and disproportionate use of force right there.”

Dominic M’Benga wrote: “What a coward.”

The Sun Online has approached Derbyshire Police for comment.

A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “We have been policing an anti-fracking protest in Danesmoor in recent days and made several arrests.

“These include the arrest of two men on Friday, July 30 – a 44-year old for aggravated trespass and a 25-year-old who was wanted by another police force.

“We are aware that a video of police and protestors has been posted on social media and we are looking into the circumstances surrounding it.
