London Bridge pub evacuated as cops closed off Borough High Street to investigate security alert

Police confirmed that Belushi's bar in the bustling area of the capital has been evacuated as a 'precaution'

REVELLERS at a pub near London Bridge were evacuated by police as authorities closed off Borough High Street.

Partygoers on Twitter also said Borough Market tube station had been placed on lockdown.

Cops confirmed that Belushi's bar in the area had been evacuated as a "precaution."

Transport for London tweeted: "A3 Borough High Street is closed both ways between A2 Great Dover Street and Southwark Street due to an incident."

Authorities removed the cordon and have deemed the area safe after investigating the security alert.

TfL later wrote: "Routes 21 35 40 47 133 N21 N133 N199 have now returned to line of route following earlier security alert in Borough High St, SE1. CLEARED."
