Bradley Lowery’s mum pens heartbreaking Facebook post urging people not to ask whether brave tot has died yet as she reveals ‘I’ve done everything to try and save him’

BRAVE Bradley Lowery's mum has penned a heartbreaking Facebook post urging people not to ask whether he has died yet as she revealed: "I've done everything to try and save him."

Gemma Lowery, 35, is inundated with messages about the six-year-old's health on a daily basis after the family were recently told he has just weeks to live.

The youngster, from Blackhall Colliery, near Hartlepool, has been battling neuroblastoma - a rare form of cancer - for most of his life.

Writing on Facebook this morning, Gemma said: "Please note due to the high volume of messages the page gets on a daily basis we will not be answering the ones that ask how Bradley is doing.

"I appreciate everyone's concern but I will update everyone at the same time by writing a status.

"I will not be answering any messages regarding alternative therapies such as cannabis oil.

"As a parent I've done and tried everything I can to cure Bradley but unfortunately nothing has worked.

"Also I really don't like to read messages saying that you think my child is going to die within the next week, asking if he has died yet, or asking if I know when he is going to die so please think of how I feel when reading that sort of thing before sending a message.

SMILE: WHAT IS BRADLEY LOWERY'S CHARITY SINGLE?

Bradley Lowery's charity single Smile was released on June 23 and stormed the charts, going straight in at number three.

The track, recorded by Hartlepool sister act Liv 'n' G, has since topped the UK's Official Trending Chart.

The reworking of the Charlie Chaplin classic also features Bradley’s classmates in Year One at Blackhall Colliery Primary School.

Updated lyrics include: “Smile my little superhero, may your pain be zero.”

The six-year-old plugged the track in a heart-warming video uploaded to Facebook.

Writing on her blog, Bradley Lowery's fight, mum Gemma said: "It is so fitting that recently Bourne Music Co, based in New York gave us the rights to record and release the fantastic Charlie Chaplin song ‘Smile’; the lyrics added in 1954 by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons giving it a sense of ‘melancholy and optimism’ making it the song that everyone knows today.

"A firm favourite with Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Barbara Streisand, Josh Groban, it has been recorded by a plethora of huge artists.

"Liv 'n' G are releasing the song in aid of every person fighting, surviving, and with the heart and strength to smile."

It costs 79p on and 99p on and all sales of the single will go towards the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

“Smile is the perfect song for him and we’d love it to do well in the charts.

"The support we’ve had for it so far has been brilliant and if everyone who sent Bradley a Christmas card downloaded or streamed it, we might be able to reach that number 1 spot which is what we're hoping for.”

Terminally-ill Bradley recently enjoyed a beach holiday with his family after Gemma and dad Carl were told he has just weeks to live.

Gemma shared a touching snap of the Sunderland superfan beaming as he clutched a lollipop while "making the most of everything" on the trip.

She said: "We were told 3 weeks ago he had weeks to live and he is still going. I am so proud of him he is my little super star.

"I know he could change any day now and when that time comes it's going to be the hardest thing Iv ever had to do but for now we making the most of everything."

Bradley's mum also posted a photo of him smiling behind the wheel of the car as the family headed on the trip.

Earlier this month Gemma said Bradley’s health is going downhill rapidly – as “new lumps and bumps” are found “each day”.

She shared the devastating news next to a picture of the youngster, whose story of bravery has touched the nation.

This month it was revealed Bradley, who is battling neuroblastoma, has just weeks to live.

Footballer Jermain Defoe - Bradley's "best friend" - revealed his pain at finding out best pal Bradley Lowery’s cancer was spreading fast – and that he doesn’t have long left to live.

The England striker texts the six-year-old’s mum first thing every morning for updates on the brave Sunderland lad.

Defoe struck up his friendship with Bradley back in September when the young cancer sufferer led out his beloved Sunderland against Everton at the Stadium of Light.

Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that most commonly affects babies and young children.

The disease develops from special nerve cells, known as neuroblasts, which get left behind from the child's development in the womb.

It mostly begins in the sufferer's adrenal glands located above the kidneys but can occur in the nerve tissue that runs along the spinal cord in the neck, chest, abdomen or pelvis.

The vicious illness can then spread to other organs like the bone, bone marrow, lymph nodes and skin.
