Finsbury Park Tube worker writes uplifting message to commuters in wake of mosque attack
STAFF at Finsbury Park station shared an uplifting message with commuters this morning just yards from where a van ploughed into worshippers outside a mosque last night.
One man has died and 10 are injured after the terror attack at 12.20am this morning targeting people as they left Muslim Welfare House in north London.
The group were giving first aid to a man who had collapsed in the street when the white hire van crashed into them.
Police confirmed this morning they are treating the attack as a terrorist incident after eyewitnesses said the man screaming "I'm going to kill all Muslims" as he charged into the group.
Pictures shared on social media this morning showed a Tube worker writing a message of solidarity on a white board at the entrance to the station.
It said: "Tough times don't last. Tough people do. Stick together. All of us."
The heartwarming message was shared on social media by commuters in the wake of the latest tragedy to hit the capital city.
A 48-year-old man has been arrested after the attack in Seven Sisters Road, near the station.
Finsbury Park station is open today but passengers must use the entrance at Station Place via Stroud Green Road.
The man, who was driving the white hire van, was detained by brave members of the public at the scene before being taken away by police.
Cops say he has been taken to hospital as a precaution and will be taken into custody once discharged, where a mental health assessment will be carried out.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd has this morning confirmed “the police are treating it as a terrorist incident”.
Police said today it was "too early to say" whether the man's death was as a result of the attack, as he was being given CPR before the van ploughed into the crowd.

- A van ran down pedestrians on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park, North London just after 12:20am on Monday morning
- One man was killed and eight people were injured outside Finsbury Park mosque as worshippers left a late evening prayer meeting
- Photos of the van used in the smash show it baring the logo of a Wales-based rental company
- Scotland Yard confirmed a man, 48, had been arrested at the scene following a massive armed response
- He reportedly screamed "kill me, kill all Muslims" as hero bystanders tackled him to the ground
- Prime Minister Theresa May described the apparent attack as a "possible terror incident" and said she will chair an emergency session of the security Cabinet later today
- Jeremy Corbyn said he was "totally shocked"
- Muslim Council of Britain condemns the attack saying they had "been calling for increased action to tackle the growth in hate crime for many years"
- The chairman of the Finsbury Park mosque says the van crash that hit worshippers was a "cowardly attack" and urged Muslims going to mosques to be vigilant
The 10 wounded pedestrians are being treated in three separate hospitals while two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Despite some claims there was more than one person in the van, terror cops said they are not looking for any other suspects.
An onlooker who described hitting the attacker before pinning him to the ground said the driver begged him to "kill him".
Footage from the horrific attack shows a man giving CPR to a man in the street while another man’s head injury was treated with a makeshift dressing.
Witnesses said people could be heard shouting and screaming amid the chaos and bloodstains were visible on the pavement.
