THE anger felt by some Tories towards Theresa May is understandable.
She played a bad hand during the election — and has rightly copped more flak since the Grenfell Tower disaster.
But as Brexit talks begin today, the Tories must put aside their differences, rally around the PM and make it a success.
Sniping from the sidelines won’t force her into a “soft Brexit” — it’ll weaken the Government and potentially give Jeremy Corbyn the keys to No10.
And Labour’s Brexit position is farcically confused. Their Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer yesterday claimed we’d remain in the customs union — directly contradicting Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell.
Mrs May needs to insist, as she has all along, that we must leave the single market and customs union.
Former Brexit minister David Jones hit the nail on the head yesterday when he warned backtracking on Brexit would be a betrayal that’ll damage his party and trust in politics.
Remainer Tories stirring up trouble must remember more than 80 per cent of voters went for parties that pledged to leave the EU.
Hopefully they’ll realise this soon enough, before irreparable damage is done to Brexit and our future success.

JEREMY Corbyn’s call for the council to forcibly buy up millionaires’ empty mansions to house Grenfell Tower survivors is one of his most foolish yet.
Even if houses are standing idle, who’s picking up the tab for the legal battle and compensation?
Where does he reckon the money will come from to buy homes in one of the priciest areas in the world where the average property costs £1.5million? Poor council taxpayers will be most stung.
The Grenfell survivors don’t want mansions bought for them, they just want somewhere safe for now. That’s what proper politicians are arguing for.
If he cared as much as he said about the victims, then he’d call on all available nearby hotels and rentals to offer them accommodation.
But it suits him and comrade John McDonnell to stoke class-war hatred and use the survivors as pawns in their plans to seize power.

FOR too long Google, YouTube and Facebook have turned a blind eye to the extremist filth that festers online.
So we applaud Boris Johnson’s plan to push European Foreign ministers to clamp down on them and other internet giants like Twitter.
They’ve been free for years to fob us off as innocent blood gets spilt.
They’re more concerned with giving hate preachers a platform for their “free speech” than protecting us.
Let’s hope they come to their senses. The status quo can’t continue.
