COPS in the depraved Spanish party resort of Magaluf have stepped up fines for unruly behaviour by DOUBLING the number of sanctions in just 15 days.
Calvia Council, which covers most of the popular tourist resorts in this part of the island, says 342 complaints have already been filed since the start of June.
This is virtually the same number as issued during the entire month of May when 345 offences were registered, the majority of them - 254 - for illegal street vending.
Up until the end of May, the year has seen 859 sanctions, 295 for selling in the street and 300 for consumption of alcohol and bottle parties amongst others.
The first 15 days of June saw 25 complaints filed for nudity or semi-nudity, ten for alcohol consumption where not authorised and ten for consumption and/or drug possession.

Actions are being stepped up following the council's decision to take a zero tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviour which is once again denting the island's image.
The fines, ranging from 100 euros up to 3,000 euros depending on the severity of the offence, are being imposed under the "Ordinance for the Promotion of Coexistence".
The Mayor of Calvia, Alfonso Rodríguez has asked to meet hoteliers and nightclub/pub owners in the area of Punta Ballena and Ramon de Montcada in the next few days to ask for their involvement in the fight to eradicate "tourism of excesses".
He says it is essential to get co-operation from everyone to stamp out drunkenness and unruly behaviour.
"As long as businesses are reluctant to change, it will be very difficult to solve this problem," he said.
