Theresa May visits victims of Grenfell Tower inferno at hospital after backlash over her failure to meet residents at site visit yesterday
The PM has been attacked after Jeremy Corbyn and Sadiq Khan visited those affected yesterday
THERESA MAY has visited victims of the Grenfell tower fire in hospital today - after a backlash yesterday when she did not meet any of those affected.
The Prime Minister arrived at Kensington and Chelsea hospital just before midday today - as the Queen met with survivors earlier today.
The PM has been under intense criticism after she came to visit the scene of the blaze on Thursday - but did not come and meet with anyone affected by it.
She was pictured meeting firefighters and those emergency services involved in the investigation yesterday.
Meanwhile, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was praised for his empathy when he listened to residents' concerns about the fire - and even comforted one distressed woman by putting his arm around her.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, also spoke to those who had survived the blaze - which has killed at least thirty people so far.

This morning Andrea Leadsom, the new Leader of the Commons, came down to speak with residents too about their concerns, and took a number of hard-hitting questions about the fire.
Angry locals confronted her over what could have been done to prevent the tragedy, and lashed out at Mrs May's "private" visits.
One man said: “At least she could’ve met the victims, Corbyn was a good man – he came and met the people.”
He added: “People want answers now. Not in two months, three months, not in a year’s time.
"Nothing has been done. Enough is enough. I have friends in that tower. I have a right to be angry.
“I have friends in there. Because of people saving money, people are dying.”
Another, 24-year-old Nadir, said: “This could have been stopped. You know that, right? This fire could have been stopped, a long, long, long time ago.
“This block and every other block in the area, suffering the same way. Exact same way. There is basic stuff, there is not even sprinklers in there.
“That could have cost £200,000 just to do that. They had £10million to spend. They spend £8.6million. Where is the rest of the money?”
But an emotional Queen was applauded as she went to meet Grenfell Tower survivors and brave firefighters today at a relief centre - and Prince William shouted "I'll come back" as they left to cheers.
Her Majesty was emotional as she spoke to volunteers, survivors, emergency services and those who are searching for loved ones at the Westway Sports Centre in West London.
The centre has been providing shelter for those made homeless by the devastating blaze and piles of clothes, food and toiletries donated by generous people lay around as Her Majesty entered.
The monarch appeared emotional as she took in her surroundings with the charred remains of the 24-storey tower in view, shortly after 11am today.
Her Majesty was shown around the centre speaking to those affected as well as the emergency services who have worked tirelessly since the tragedy.
More than 60 people are believed to be missing after an "unprecedented" inferno ripped through Grenfell Tower, in West London, with fears the death toll could reach three figures.
