BRAVE firefighters douse a blaze in a flat where a woman was trapped at Grenfell Tower this morning.

Dramatic footage filmed for The Sun at the scene of the disaster in West London captures the moment crowds cheer as water is hosed at part of the inferno.

Another shocking video shows a man helplessly looking from his window as fire engulfs the 24-storey block.

A witness says, "Oh my god" as she spots the trapped resident.

And another person is filmed screaming for help as they wave clothes out the window to get the attention of rescuers.

It is not yet clear what sparked the massive blaze, which started at around 1am Wednesday morning.

At least six people were killed in the tower on the Lancaster West estate in Kensington, West London.

The London Ambulance service said at least 74 patients were taken to hospital with 20 in critical condition.

London Fire Brigade Assistant Commissioner Dan Daly said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are working extremely hard in very difficult conditions to tackle this fire.

"This is a large and very serious incident."
