THE SUN SAYS

Forget Ukip or Labour, vote Tory — they alone are committed to seeing Brexit through in full

Make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister and we'll be a global laughing stock

THE Sun today has a simple message for our readers thinking of voting for Ukip or Labour tomorrow: Don’t.

Let us explain why.

Ukip has succeeded wildly in its only real aim: to get Britain out of the EU. But it no longer serves any purpose and its leaders know it.

It is only standing in half the seats nationwide.

The Tories alone are committed to seeing Brexit through in full.

They will withdraw us from the single market and customs union, regain control of our borders and laws and free us to trade independently with the rest of the world.

Labour claims it will see Brexit through too. But, as the last few weeks have proved, it will promise absolutely anything for your vote.

Its Brexit “strategy” changes daily. Currently it’s to insist on free access to the single market. It has no idea what it will do if the EU says no. Indeed The Sun does not believe for a second that Brexit would happen under Labour.

Do not think voting Ukip will somehow ensure the Tories don’t let Brexit slip. Ukip isn’t even expecting to win any seats.

Meanwhile Theresa May and her Brexit Secretary David Davis have worked on their negotiating tactics for almost a year in government.

There is no weakness in their resolve. In fact they are criticised for being too tough with Brussels.

The Tories need every former Ukipper’s vote to win a decent majority to make Brexit happen without opposition parties or rebellious MPs holding it back.

Many Sun readers will already be voting Tory.

Others will fancy Labour because that’s how they have always voted.

If that’s you, know this:

This is not the moderate Labour of Tony Blair. It is not the Labour of Kinnock or even Miliband. Your vote would be to install Britain’s first Marxist government.

A generation after the end of the Soviet Union, the dismantling of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of almost every ruinous and oppressive hard-Left regime worldwide, you would be helping to establish a new one, right here in Britain.

It would be the gravest mistake this country has ever made.

Plenty of people have spent a year raging over the damage they think Brexit will do. Many of them also back an extremist Labour Party whose effect on the economy would be genuinely cataclysmic.

Even the monstrous spending and borrowing plans they admit to in their manifesto will destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs and hugely increase taxes for all — no, not just the rich. Don’t let them convince you this is a gentle adjustment to help public services.

It would be just the start.

Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell have posed as calm and respectable to get elected. It is a gigantic fraud. They are bad men who have spent their lives in the company of truly evil people.

Look at Corbyn on our front page today, rabble-rousing at a rally attended by fanatics from a terrorist group, some dressed as suicide bombers and screaming for Israel to be gassed.

It would defy belief, had he and his Shadow Chancellor not also spent decades as Westminster cheerleaders for the wicked murderers of the IRA.

They and their sinister Marxist aides know this is their only chance of power in a lifetime.

If the tightest of the opinion polls is right, they could seize it . . . and damage Britain beyond repair.

Their naive young followers and the mega-rich US-based celebrities who back Corbyn are too clueless or careless to see where this leads.

But those alive in the bleak 1970s remember an economy crippled by massive union domination and wholesale nationalisation.

The lights went out. Bodies went unburied. Public transport stopped. Industries were wrecked.

Corbyn’s regime would be far worse. The extreme socialism he admires and craves has destroyed oil-rich, once-prosperous Venezuela. Its starving people are rioting.

Do not let that be our fate.

Until he took over Labour, Corbyn had never run anything outside of a Stop The War meeting.

Now his young fans want this witless novice in charge of Brexit, our biggest challenge in peacetime.

They want him in charge of a massively expensive and pointless nationalisation programme, a new tax system — and the long recession guaranteed to follow.

They want him in charge of fighting Islamist terrorism. Look at our front page again and see where his instincts lie. This man prides himself on voting against every anti-terror law for 35 years.

Most of his MPs know the truth and tried to oust Corbyn. Now they dishonestly, disgracefully urge voters to make him Prime Minister.

Theresa May says that would make us a global laughing stock.

Well, Isis would be laughing. The civilised world would be horrified. Britain would face ruin.

Those who cast their ballot for it would be to blame — and regret it to the end of their days.

The Tories have not run a great campaign. But they are pro-business, pro-jobs and pro-low taxes.

Most polls predict they will win. Do not assume it. Your vote could make the difference between waking up on Friday to a benign government ready to carry Brexit through . . . or the nightmare of hard-Left extremists propped up by the SNP from Scotland.

Make certain you vote tomorrow. Even if you haven’t done so before, vote Conservative.
