'THE MARXIST'S DREAM'

Jeremy Corbyn’s plans for multi-billion-pound spending binge backed by 129 hard-left theorists

Die-hard socialists believe Labour leader's radical manifesto is 'fiscally responsible'

JEREMY Corbyn's blueprint for a multi-billion-pound spending binge was dubbed the “Marxist’s dream” after a string of hard-left theorists backed his plans.

Leftie academics such as Ben Fine — author of “Marx’s Capital” and Costas Lapavitsas – co-author of “Anti-Capitalism: A Marxist Guide” — were among 129 die-hard socialists who claimed Mr Corbyn’s radical manifesto was “fiscally responsible”.

Another signatory is Danny Dorling, who blamed deficit-busting government efficiency savings for killing 30,000 people — while failing to mention the pro-Corbyn bias all over his personal blog.

And is was also backed by the self-described tax expert Richard Murphy — who said Labour should be “proud of running a deficit” and said “overspending” is essential.

But Treasury minister Simon Kirby blasted: “This is proof that Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell’s dangerous plans for Britain’s economy are the stuff of dreams for Marxists.

“The only way to stop this nightmare becoming reality is to vote for Theresa May and her Conservative candidates on Thursday.”

Last night Mr Corbyn held a rally in the centre of Birmingham alongside comedian Steve Coogan — best known for his fictional character “Alan Partridge” — and Corbyn-supporting bands Clean Bandit and The Farm.
