THERESA May has vowed to block extremist websites if internet companies do not act to do so themselves.

The PM said she would consider new powers to end UK access to sites promoting radicalisation.

Mrs May told the Daily Telegraph that if an agreement could not be reached, she would bring legislation.

She said: “I think it is important we do get together internationally and look at the possibility of regulating cyberspace.

“What has developed as generally a huge benefit for people is being misused.

"It’s being used as a tool in helping to put together attacks.”
