HUNDREDS have gathered to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the London Bridge terror attack during an emotional vigil this evening.
Those in attendance were seen holding signs calling for solidarity, with many seen in tears as the capital came together as one.
Many were seen in emotional embraces and in tears as a minute's silence was held for the seven people who lost their lives.
Their thoughts were also with the 48 injured, 18 of whom remain in a critical condition.
One Muslim in attendance held a sign which read: "I am London. I am British. I am human."
Addressing the crowd, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: "We stand together tonight to honour the memories of the innocent lives lost and people injured in the barbaric attack on our city on Saturday night.
"London stands in defiance against the cowardly attack and our people, city our values and our way of life.
"As the Mayor of London I want to send a clear message to the sick and evil extremists who commit these hideous crimes.
"We will defeat you. You will not win.

"As a proud and patriotic British Muslim I say this: You do not commit these disgusting acts in my name.
"Your perverse ideology has nothing to do with the true values of Islam and you will never succeed in dividing our city.
"Today, we mourn the loss of innocent lives. Londoners and people from around the world.
"We send our love to the victims families and to all those injured. We thank our courageous emergency services and the brave Londoners who risked their lives to save other.
"You are the best of us.
"Our city is stood with great sorrow and anger tonight but also great resolve and determination because our unity and love for one another will always be stronger than the hate of the extremists.
"This is our city, these are our values and this is our way of life.
"London will never be broken by terrorism.
"We will step up the fight against extremism. And we will defeat the terrorists."
Bunches of flowers to those murdered and injured carpeted the pavement outside a police cordon at London Bridge today.
A large police presence remained in place with swathes of the area still cordoned off following Saturday's attack.
A man holds a sign which reads: 'You are in our hearts and prayers. We stand united with you. Terrorists ain't no Muslim's.'Around 50 colourful bouquets of flowers, with cards addressed to "those poor souls who lost their lives" and "to all those affected on Saturday" were placed by the scene.
One woman overwhelmed by emotion silently knelt in prayer in front of the flowers, with others crying and embracing in front of the bundles of flowers.
Street pastors were also on hand to comfort those who were upset.
Borough High Street, Tooley Street, the Barrowboy and Banker and London Grind remained closed, with around a dozen police officers guarding the area.
A white tent and a number of vans can still be seen down the high street, where a number of people were stabbed by three terrorists, moments after they hit pedestrians on London Bridge.
Six people are still missing after the attack, which ISIS have claimed responsibility for.
They are Sara Zelenak, 21, Ignacio Echeverría, 39, James McMullan, 32, Xavier Thomas, Sebastien Belanger, and Socaine Drz.
