Woman seriously injured after ‘three men approach her in park and spray her in face with acid’

A WOMAN has sustained serious injuries after reportedly being sprayed in the face with acid as she sat on a bench, police officers say.
The unnamed 47-year-old victim was allegedly approached by three men in Frogmoor, High Wycombe, at around 4.50pm on Saturday.
One of the men reportedly sprayed the woman with the liquid, burning her in the process, Thames Valley Police have said.
The unnamed victim was rushed to hospital from the scene, where she remains.
Cops are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the “distressing” incident.
A spokesman for the force said: "Officers were called by the ambulance service at about 4.50pm following reports that a 47-year-old woman had sustained burns after a liquid which could have been acid was thrown at her in Frogmoor.

"She had been sitting on a bench when she was approached by a group of three males.
"One of these males then squirted a liquid onto her. The group then left the scene."
Investigating officer detective sergeant Matthew Kent told local reporters: “This is clearly a distressing incident, in which a woman has sustained serious injuries.
“We believe that these injuries could have been caused by acid being thrown onto the victim.
“Although I understand that this incident will cause concern for people, I would like to reassure the public that we are carrying out a full and thorough investigation, and that officers are at the scene while this takes place.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who has any information relating to this incident or the offenders to please call us on 101.”
