Ticketmaster urges Manchester bombing survivors to check their junk mail as 2,200 free tickets for tribute concert remain unclaimed – and 2pm deadline looms
TICKETMASTER has urged concert-goers who survived the Manchester bombing attack to check their junk mail with more than 2,000 tickets yet to be verified.
More than 12,000 tickets have been claimed by genuine fans ahead of Sunday's tribute gig, with those at the original concert able to attend for free.
Ticketmaster said they had processed a further 4,000 tickets overnight for genuine fans, with another 2,200 still yet to be confirmed.
They said: "We urge all customers to check their inboxes, especially junk and spam folders, and claim their tickets by 2pm today.
"We will not stop until we have as many genuine fans at the show as possible.""
In a statement, they said: "Registration has now closed, but we would like to reassure customers that we are still working through hundreds of applications and if they can verify that they were at the original show, they will get their tickets."
They said there may be a "small number" of instances where customers had not received their confirmation but added customer services were working hard to contact them.
Ticketmaster yesterday revealed they had received 10,000 "unscrupulous" applications for the concert, with a 17-year-old victim one said to have been one refused a ticket.
The concert at the Old Trafford cricket ground is being held in memory of the 22 victims killed in the attack almost two weeks ago.
